Which units are beachside?

Good news, all units are beachside! Some guests prefer ground floor units to be able to walk directly off their lanai, across a short stretch of grass, to the beach. Some guests prefer upper floor units for the amazing views and more privacy on your lanai.

Our Beach

Kamaole II is, without a doubt, one of the best beaches in Maui. While all beaches in Maui are public, the stretch of beach in front of the hale Pau Hana is fairly secluded.

The surf is typically gentle enough for small children and snorkeling, yet can be great for boogie boarding too. The main stretch of beach is virtually rock free, but there are reefs on either end with tide pools for exploring and plenty of coral, fish and turtles for snorkeling pleasure!

Heed any warning signs and be aware of changing conditions, strong currents and reefs. Use your own best judgement to determine whether the beach is appropriate that day for your ability level.

Coral reefs are living animals. Coral can be fragile. Be careful not to touch, kick or stand on the coral as this could damage or kill them and could hurt you.

Hawaii is the first state in the US to ban the sale of sunscreens containing coral harming chemicals. Even some sunscreens that promote “reef-safe” do not meet Hawaii’s standards. We recommend picking some sunscreen up when you arrive on Maui.
