When you’re looking for the perfect place to spend a day at the beach, you’ll want somewhere that checks off all the boxes. A quiet place for your morning walk, calm and clear water for snorkeling and cooling off, shady palms for afternoon naps, and front row seats when the sun goes down. And you won’t have to look far! The best beach in South Kihei is right off your lanai. Kamaole Beach II has it all, so grab your sunglasses and get ready for a beach day!

First Light, First Steps

Even before the sun touches the tops of the palms you’ll find the early risers walking the beach. There’s nothing quite like a quiet morning stroll down to the point to watch the boats go out of the harbor and see the nesting birds take flight. It’s a peaceful and magical time on Maui, and well worth the early wake-up call.

Snorkel, Swim, & SUP

The morning waters are perfect for a mellow adventure after breakfast. Hop on a paddle board and cruise the calm waters to spot all kinds of creatures from above, or dive right in. Snorkeling is easy and accessible right off the beach — perfect for kids, first-timers, or even experienced swimmers looking for a quick dip. The waves are gentle this time of day, and the whole family can enjoy some time together in the pacific!

Books & Beach Toys

The sun is getting high in the sky, everyone has had lunch, and you’re feeling a little lazy. Time to grab the beach toys, a good book and find that shady spot in the sand! There are so many good things about Kamaole Beach II, but one thing we hear from guests over and over is, “The sand is so soft!” Perfect for little toes, sandcastles, and lounging, you’ll be able to settle in for some mid-day relaxation.

Surf’s Up!

Grab your boogie board, it’s time to hit the waves! In the afternoon the waves kick up and are just big enough for the young ones — or the young at heart. So grab your boards and join in on the action! Or, if you’re more of a spectator, now is the perfect time to take out the camera and capture those great memories of catching a first ride.

The Best Show on Earth

A day at the beach isn’t complete without a sunset. You only need to take a short walk across the grassy lawn to your unit to freshen up and grab a drink, and then head back down to watch the show. Dinner is on the grill, the air is still warm, and you’ve been barefoot all day. Now that’s what we call paradise!
